Hyundai’s latest EV offering, the IONIQ 6, just made its debut at the LA Auto show, and the Korean automaker released some impressive stats to go along with its stunning design. Based on the Prophecy EV concept, the IONIQ 6 is a slippery, coupe-like sedan featuring a “streamliner” design, as Hyundai calls it. The IONIQ 6 shares much similarity with cars like the Mercedes EQS, but the IONIQ 6’s design is even more extreme.

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) -The Africa head of Ford Motor Co said the South African government must deliver policy certainty on electric vehicles (EVs) within six months to save its automotive industry. Three quarters of cars produced by South Africa's auto industry, which accounts for 5% of gross domestic product and more than 100,000 jobs, are exported, mostly to Europe. But with Britain planning to ban sales of new petrol and diesel cars from 2030 and the European Union in 2035, the local industry risks losing thousands of jobs and billions in revenue in the absence of a government plan for EVs.

Electric vehicle startup Nio is accelerating its expansion in Europe. The premium EV maker just launched its first power-swapping station in Varberg, Sweden, the company said in a LinkedIn post. When it comes to charging, Nio differentiates itself from its rivals by offering swappable batteries, which are upgradable and charge a monthly subscription fee, on top of the traditional plug-and-charge model.
