In a press release published Monday, Consumer Reports warned customers that some Peeps marshmallows contain red dye No. 3, calling the dye a “known carcinogen.” The dye has been linked to cancer in rats, attention and behavioral issues in children, but more evidence of the dye's health effects in humans is needed.
